IVTIP Meeting, November 2009
The In Vitro Industrial Platform's (IVTIP) autumn meeting will take place in November, hosted by the Centre for Advanced Research & Development on Alternative Methods. The theme of the meeting was chosen to be 'Toxicology in the 21st Century'.

EPAA Conference, November 2009
The European Partnership for Alternative Aproaches to Animal Testing's
(EPAA) annual conference will be held in November. This year's conference theme is dedicated to Dissemination of 3Rs-related information.
Issues that will be addressed are:
The role that dissemination plays or should play in advancing research into 3Rs, sharing good practice, enhancing (international) regulatory acceptance and improving uptake of 3Rs techniques, Information needs and information gaps; The most efficient dissemination mechanisms.

FUNDING OPPORTUNITY - New Grant Applications INVITED NOW
The Dr Hadwen Trust is currently inviting new grant applications for research proposals to develop, validate or implement non-animal methods which contribute to the replacement of animal experiments in medical research. We have a total budget of £400,000 on offer for proposals directed at replacing the use of living animals in current procedures. For fuller details visit our webpage.
Seventh world congress on alternatives and animal use in the life science, Rome, Italy, 30 August to 3 September
The congress was given the motto "Calling on Science" in order to emphasize that scientific progress today goes hand in hand with progress towards the reduction, refinement and replacement of experimental animals (the 3-R's). For more information, please click here.

ESNATS Kick-off meeting, 21-23 April 2008, Cologne, Germany
The ESNATS Kick-off meeting was held on 21 to 23 April in Cologne, Germany. It started with a public event, where an overview of the project was given by Prof. Dr. Jürgen Hescheler, the coordinator of ESNATS. The overview was followed by plenary talks by ESNATS partners on three of the main research areas covered in ESNATS.
