Embryonic Stem cell-based Novel Alternative Testing Strategies

Ethics

ESNATSAt the heart of the ESNATS scientific programme touches on several ethical issues, in particular concerning animal research and human embryonic stem cells. These were recognised from the outset. For this reason an ethical specialist organisation, Edinethics Ltd, was appointed as a partner in the consortium and to the Steering Committee to provide ethical advice and training to.

The EC has strict requirements for any FP7 research programme which proposes to do animal research or human embryonic stem cell research. Each partner organisation in ESNATS which is going to be involved in such activities has first had to satisfy the relevant ethical and regulatory bodies in both the EC and in their own country.

In these pages we will begin to explore some of these issues, as well as other ethical issues including human gametes. We will start with some basic pages and add to these from time to time.
